AT&T Secures New Contract with Champion Energy
AT&T Inc.
(NYSE:T) announced today that AT&T has signed a service
contract with Champion Energy Corporation, a New Rochelle, N.Y.-based
company owning and operating heating oil companies throughout the
Northeast under the company names Hoffman Fuel, C. Hoffberger
Company, Eastern Petroleum, Eastern Fuelman, Lewis Oil, J.J. Skelton
Oil and Rye Fuel.
Under the terms of the
three-year agreement, AT&T will be the primary voice and
data services provider for Champion Energy and will provide
AT&T Managed Internet Service (MIS), a dedicated Internet connection,
to eight field offices. This solution will protect the
company's Internet access around the clock so that Champion
Energy's valuable network resources can remain secure. Additionally, the
AT&T MIS solution will consolidate and include management of
all of Champion Energy's Internet applications with scalability, 24/7
customer support and technical assistance.
"We needed a safe and
reliable solution that would place all of our locations
on the same network platform used for business applications,"
said Chris Carini, vice president of marketing for Champion
Energy. "AT&T offered the right solution to both improve
connectivity among our eight locations and to streamline our
various administrative functions."
Champion Energy's upgraded critical computer operations demanded
enhanced connectivity among our locations to ensure that secure
and efficient data services would be maintained around the
clock. The AT&T solution, backed by industry-leading service level
guarantees, will meet this need for expanded bandwidth by
increasing the connection capabilities among sites to keep all
business operations and applications on a unified, flexible and
reliable platform.
